Are you a fan of someone?
Be it singers, actors or your friends

Being part of the fans is also known as Fandom
I believe most of us are fans of someone

However in today topic we shall just focus on Fans of Idol
Idol Fandom

Why do we have Idol Fandom?
No matter how good or how bad an idol is, there is always someone supporting them.
Those are the fans who are willing to pay to keep their idol around.

When a lot of these fans start to come together and form club, a Fandom is created.

This Fandom exist with the purpose of letting their idol know how much they love the idol.
And try to keep the idol in the industry as long as possible. At the same time try to convince other people to become part of this Fandom.
I call this the spread of love

What the effect of Idol Fandom?
CRAZY OVER YOUR IDOL!

And you have the urge to buy something about the idol to show your support
You want to meet them in person

How do you prepare for Idol Fandom?
This part will be talking about how to prepare yourself for Fandom
and what can you do even if you are not a fan


Let talk about preparing yourself first.

This is the easiest, all you need is money....
TONS OF IT!

Since most of us already have idols
Select the one who is most active still to date
Do a google search
Download everything about that idol
Buy things related to that idol

When you feel that you have good enough knowledge about that idol
It is time to surf some fan club forum
Join that forum, get all latest gossip and you might even learn new things about that idol
Join some event by the fan club
Eventually one of the event will be meeting that idol in person
It is be in form of concert, airport waiting or event private event for fan club especially if it is an official fan club.

The pro about joining Fan club are:
More and faster insider news
More events
More love as everyone is a fan of the same person
Reduce the need of searching news online
For official fan club, you might get advance ticket sales sometimes even cheaper tickets

But there are down side too:
Fans normally are from all over the world, it might be hard to communicate
For example, a Chinese idol fan club normally only available in China or Taiwan.
Meaning the forum will be writing in Chinese, if you want to reply you have to reply in Chinese
Not fun.
Official Fan Club normally requires subscription. Meaning you have to pay
Not fun too.
There is a need to be active.
Especially when there is a limited number of advance tickets sales
If you just join and not interact, most likely you will not be pick for these tickets
So if you are an anti-social Otaku, you are best not to join fan club for these tickets

Next what can a person who is not a fan do?

You might think why the heck do a non-fan have to prepare for...
But if you did read what I wrote above you will realise one thing
A real fan will spend money on their idol

It is great money earning opportunity!!!

There is actually a lot of people doing this already

Few years back Jay Chou had a concert in Singapore
His tickets sold out during an advance sale for certainly credit card holders
Fan club didn't even get to buy these advance ticket

I know what you are thinking, his ticket sold out because his is SUPER popular
That might be true
But the news reported something about this sale

There was a guy who bought a whole row of tickets
Just 1 guy
he bought one whole row
What did he do with the tickets?

He sold them to the fans
At a mark up price of over 100%
The ticket he bought was about $150
and he sold them at $300 - $400+

Fans bought from him disregarding the price, as all they want was to meet their idol

This is how a person who is not a fan can do something to this Fandom

Let talk about more recent concert sales
SNSD concert ticket was sold out in 5min
Something happened, you see people selling tickets at a mark up price

The most ridiculous mark up I ever seen is Arashi ticket sale
The selling price for a ticket is US$50
Guess what is the mark up price?

US$100? US$200? US$500? US$800?
Well the answer is it went up to US$1200
AND YES someone brought that ticket
The auction price was at the range of $700 - $1000+
and people buy it
why?
Cause the love and want to see their idol

Think about how much money you can earn from these fans

But of course there is a reason I say there is a need for preparation
You need to know where are the fan club forum
The tickets black market
And some knowledge about that idol
Lastly, knowledge about the ticket

First 3 points are clear
But the last point might not be that clear.

Why do you need to know about the ticket?
Idol's company know that a lot people are earning through these resales
And they want to stop it.
Yes, they did sell the ticket but if the seat in not filled during the concert
What will people and the media think about that idol?
It will cause reputation damage to the idol
So some company in Japan have come out with a plan to stop these resales

Let's take AKB48, they have Stage show everyday in Japan
Yes everyday.
But they supply of tickets are never enough
You actually have to go through a ballot to get their tickets

As you can see... Winning that ballot will sure going to get you a lot of money
especially when there is birthday celebration for one of the member that day.
So AKB company come up with this.
Tickets with name printed on it

Yes, your name one the ticket and it is checked before you enter for the performance
If you are a foreign bring your passport for identification

You might be thinking What The Hell!?
Name on ticket?

But to fan, it is call personalization.
I am a fan, and this ticket is a proof of my support
It even have my name on it

With this, resale ticket can't be used as you don't have the person name
So if you want to earn some money
Please remember to do some background check first.

Disclaimer, this are just a brunch of crap. So if you lost money trying to copy those who earned it is not my fault

Extreme cases of Idol Fandom
Now I taught you how to become be part of the Fandom
I shall show some no-no example of Fandom
You can love your idol
But please don't cross the line and become an extreme case
Below are example I found online

1. Naming your kid after the idol
Not cool at all...
Dun ever call your son Justin Bieber
It is not cool and he will definitely be laugh in school

2. Thinking your child's father is the idol
Once again this is not cool...
And you will get sue for it
Just like how Justin Bieber sue a woman for accusing him as the father

3. Worshiping your idol
Yes, I understand you love your idol
But thinking that they are god?
That is too extreme

4. Spending everything you have on idol
A fact for you AKB48 single sales in Japan is over 1million in just 1 week
They broke the 32 years CD sales record by having continuous 1millions sales
Yes they are popular
But not everyone will actually buy their CD
So why such great sales?

Too bad the video on youtube was removed
I shall explain what happened

There is this guy who is a shopkeeper
He spend 20million yen on AKB so far
That is about US$250000
And he only buy CD in batch of 1000
You know what? He is part of a group of fans who does the same thing too

This is the kind of extreme, fan are willing to go for their idol

There are a lot more example you can find online if you are free to look up on them

Conclusion on Idol Fandom
Overall it is not a bad thing to be part of a Fandom
It is something you will enjoy as you like it
Just don't go to the extreme part of Fandom

I am myself in part of AKB fandom, even do fansub for their show
That is how I show my support to my idols by spreading this love to more people
Just like how I enjoy AKB concert the other time
I hope more people will go with me, share the love
But no one is willing pay for idol who is not a fan of.

But I hope from this post, you will actually change your mind to go for idol concert and try it out
Not as a fan
But as someone who see opportunity in this Fandom and earn some money from it
And just maybe someday you might just be another fan of an idol too

Awesomeness

The concert is awesome!

Everyone in the theater was so high

Almost everyone has a light stick with them... including me of course...
Some even have 4 lights stick on one hand

Went in at around 5.15pm...
Miss my ticket call end up almost didn't get a nice seat (it is free seating with ballot of what tickets to go in first)

Lucky lucky... still manage to get the 4th row
Wait till 6 before they start...
Full house, with about 200+ ppl in it

Everyone was very hype about this...
and then it started!
Everyone started standing up!

you can hear screaming for their supporting idol
Then they came out and blasted us with their songs
Awesome...

Hard to explain...
But I finally understand why AKB48 is so popular in Japan...
The 16 members that came are not even the top in the group
Yet you can see them shining as a group
Really attracted my attention throughout the whole concert
The crowd was really enthusiastic, they were cheering when they are singing
Makes you want to join in the cheer...
Later we found out that 50% of the crowd came for previous concert... no wonder so high...

Of course another point that attracted me was the idol i am supporting
The really really damn chio Natsumi
The really really cute Sumire
This 2 were one of the reason I went

During the concert Umeda manage to attract me too...
She is really attractive i have to say...

After the concert we have HANDSHAKE SESSION!
WOOT!

Get to shake chio bu hand!

So excited that I didn't manage to say anything to the idols

well beside one...
I told Nacchi "Passport"
I know it weird to suddenly say passport during handshake
but luckily she understood what I was trying to say and laughed
If not it will be damn awkward...

Before going to the concert, I somehow read her blog post about her forgetting to bring her passport before coming to Singapore...
Ahaha...
And that is where the passport came about...
I am not even sure why I said that...

This is a really awesome experience for me
I don't mind going for another round

I am starting a new chapter tml...
But... I kind of stop halfway for the previous one

So I am now stuck in between 2 chapters

I am going to pause for a moment and goes back to finish the previous chapter

Why would anyone even do this?

It is like...
Reading a comic half-way... and you jump right to the ending ark for the fun of it
after finishing the ending you went back to finish the rest of the previous chapters.

No one does that...
What is the point of knowing the ending then go read up what happened?
Erm... To think about it... My mum actually does this...

Luckily life is not like comic... So that was a bad example...
Anyway
Going into the next chapter will actually change what you have not been through in the previous chapter.

For example, drink vegetables juice...
I wouldn't like it...
I didn't try to drink it before though...
But I know I don't like it
Why?
Because in my mind, I already tried and hate it...
So I believe I can't drink it...

Our brains are very powerful processing device
All you need is to input the data and you can view the result in ur mind...
Though not accurate, it is still the close thing u can get beside doing it for real.

For vegetables juice, I input the smell, taste and other crappy stuff of vegetable I ever encounter mixed them together and "drink" it in my mind...

Taste horrible...

Well... That was until something changed...
I started to think... Vegetable is good for my skin... Well it is, if u compare to just eating meat.
I trusted myself on the thought.

So I gave myself this idea...
To avoid my pimples on my face... maybe I should start eating veg... Which is impossible for me to do... So why not try drinking veggy juice instead...

I actually drag for about 3 weeks before buying the first veg juice from the super market...

and drag another week before I drink it...

Delicious!

I know it is packet manufacture one, so there is still different between the real deal.
But you know what?
My future has changed.
I no longer thinks that veggy juice sucks... I think they are delicious
and I am now more willing to try it out in the future

My future of no veggy juice for me is now change to, willing to drink veggy juice
All because I believe in myself.

Everything is from our mind...
Our mindset changes everything.
If I were to continue believing that I do not need vegetable in my life... I will never try out veggy juice, and I will never know it is delicious

This year you will be amaze by how low profile it is compared to last year

There is only like 10mins of military vehicle show case
compare to last year... you can say might as well down show it to us

but of course there are highlights

one is close up with helicopters and shooting of cannons

My friends is one of the firer in this year NDP

Then there is fireworks

Messy that all I can say

but the ending is as nice as the new year one

I think they use back the same type of fireworks

my cam skill still sucks when comes to take fireworks

Went to sleep at 2 woke up at 10
continue drama... Before 12pm...
I finished the 12 episodes of 30min drama...
1 drama down...
While watching the drama I was playing game on the Ipad and I finished it too

Continue to the next one...
from 12 to 5pm
I finish another 12 episodes ...
2 down...

7pm went to ah ma house...
at there... watch anime...
from episode 4 to 12
before going home at 9
I finish to episode 11
and on the way home... finish 12....

So within one day of totally no life...
I finish 2 drama series 1 anime series and 1 game...

As you should know...
I watch video all in at least 1.5 to 2 times the speed...
So you can say that I save 1 full day of video watching time

Within this 1 day I save another day
running 2 days in 1 day...
now with 24 hours more for me to spare...
I must say... I have too much time...

I should make good use of it...
but how...
No more drama to watch...
or anime to watch
or game to play (actually have a lot but dun feel like playing)

I got my first transition lenses for my spec!

IT IS AMAZING!

If you read the advertisement before
you will understand that transition lenses will help you block off the sunlight that might hurt your eyes

I dun even know if it is working or not

Train Station!

Close loh!

After running for so many decades
The tanjong pagar train station is finally taken offline and move to a new area

A lot of people went down to take photo
so as to remember it

It is weird...
When it was still running no one really cares about it...

But once it is decided to be shut down

Everyone started to look at it
Buy ticket to board the train
Go there eat their food...

We human are weird...
We do not cherish things that we contact everyday until we going to lose it

I believe everyone have this experience
Whereby someone you know going to leave this world.
Or when the electricity went out and you are unable to use any electrical appliances

However as irony creatures... We only feel the need of cherishing something when we lose them
After which... we forgot...

Wonder why are we like this...
Maybe we have too much things to manage
and doesn't have time to cherish everything we care about

Writing this post sure makes me think of the things I should cherish
But for the record... I guess I have neglect everything on the list

I dunno what else can I use to describe what I see today

Today afternoon...
I suddenly took out my cabinet to do a mess clean up

Found so many things that are totally useless

LOL

trading cards, telephone cards, 4 old spec, loads of money, tons of receipts
3 watches and a few wallets

why the hell did I keep them sia

Anyway...

Here is the scary part

There was a watch I bought during 2002...
which is 9 years ago

So long liao still inside

as you thought...
It is not working

but since I kept it away
it should be in the condition it was before right?

Apparently not in this case
The watch since to decomposed itself in the cabinet
not sure how it just did

The rubber strap... shattered into tiny piece leaving only the metal part of the watch still intact

there is no such possible explanation for this

Even if it is a melt rubber it will just be a piece of rubber...

but these are shattered harden rubber

there is no bug in it... I made sure I check before opening...

Playback speed

Not sure it is normal...

But I tend to watch my video at least in 1.5 times the normal speed...

Default speed is just too slow for me

In drama, actors and actresses tend to talk slower so that the audience can understand what they are saying

Action movies are made slower so you can enjoy the scenes

I just dun like that...

I like it at normal reality speed

where when the actor punch you can feel the impact
and not some slow punch which can send someone flying

Watching at 1.5 times the speed has it good and bad point

good point is that you finish the show faster and allows you to save more time
bad point... when the actor speak too softly or mumbling you can hear anything
End up I will have to rewind and watch at a slower speed...

Another bad point I can think of it that....
I am starting to get used to the speed...
I watching a lot more show on 2 times speed now
I guess it is not long before I going for 2.5...

This is bad... I am running out of cartoon to watch....

Very long time never visit the arcade liao...

So many new games out there

Last time I went there, the scoping candy game was the hottest

you can see a lot of aunty and uncle play for hours just keep on feeding it with money

how fun...

Now another game is in trend
it is call Fishing Joy

available on Iphone and Ipad too

Addictive game I must say

for 5min that is...

But a lot of people is playing it!

The point of the game is to shoot out net to catch fish

and the fish will give u credit to shoot more net

different type of fish give different amount of credit

the higher the credit the harder to catch
this game is by luck anyway

so some time you can spend tons of nets on one and not catch it
and other time just 1 net and you can get the big prize

it is a great time waster

also a great money sucker

Yesterday saw a kid with his father at the arcade
just some extra info... it was already 11pm and the kid is like 6 - 8 years old

So the kid OBVIOUSLY doesn't know how to play the game

and is spamming his nets like there is no tomorrow

The father doesn't seem to care
he just there to look after him I guess

so the kid finish his credits and the father told him to go home

the kid of course didn't want it
I dunno why
and he walked away from his father to another machine saying he still want to play

he eyes was really red, not because he cried but from tiredness
Yet his father when to change some coin for him to play

When playing the kid wasn't even focus he was rubbing his eyes and shooting at random spot missing everything

in 5 minutes he finish his coins
And he still doesn't want to go him

I dunno what happened next as my friend arrived and I went to meet him

but I guess the father when to change coins again

It's really sad to see this...
When I was young I dun even go to the arcade much

and now... kids don't want to leave that place
Why are parents bringing up their kid this way?

Something is very wrong...

But I got a solution for this

and he can play the game at home!

Smelly Tofu

So smelly....

Some how... Night market seem to LOVE to have this store selling smelly tofu

why would people do that?

and why do people even eat it?

Do you know what it is?

it is deep fry rotten tofu

Tofu itself is sour
and if left for too long it will start fermenting A.K.A. rotting

in order not to waste the food someone deep fry it and sell it

and people love it!
I dunno why but there is really people who love it

I hate it

It smell so bad

For the past week there is a night market near my house train station

and you know what?

the smelly tofu store is near the entrance of the train station!

it stinks up the place
it is so smelly that I cannot even breath when I am near that area

how can they do this!

Some more it also stinks up the whole interchange

Yesterday saw some vomit on the floor
I bet it is because of the smell

I dun understand how those people still can queue in the line sia

Typing this out makes my remember the grossness on the tofu

Expiry date is a very interesting date...
Why?
Well it tells u when you food are going to spoil

isn't that amazing?

Anything before that date the food is still consider as good and fresh

but once the clock strike 12 in the morning

DATA!
The food is now spoiled and need to be thrown away

That how amazing the date is...

A lot people like to keep their food until the date of expiry before throw

not one day earlier
cause it is still fresh before that date

sometime it is hard to understand why we all do this
I just we are too bind to every word and number we see
oh well

Hai...

Just finishing watching Fantastic Four 2 on the TV...

Watching the movie make people feel sad

If there really is fantastic four in this world

the movie most likely will never re-air again...
Since Johnny is dead... so sad

Wonder why can't movie ever be true to the main story in the comic?

None of the movie are actually following the comic
that so sad

In comic they are so much stronger and their story are much more emotional
Yet in the movie, most likely due to budget, they have to tone down their power

and they always kill off their enemy in the movie.
In comic... they just jail them up

Hai...
Hopefully some day technology will get better and more action can be down

I don't mind waiting for another 5 years just to see an epic storyline from Marvel like Civil War or Secret war in the theater...
Even if it is in animation I would love to see it
